What to expect at your vision examination
The Mellins-ZEISS experience
Our team is ready to provide you with the Mellins-Zeiss experience. This process takes your eye examination one step further in order to provide you with a truly customised eyecare solution. Below are more details on what you can expect:

1. Your visual needs analysis
We start with a discussion on your personal visual behaviour and needs. We need to know, not only what your new spectacles have to achieve, but also when and where. We will discuss your regular day-to-day schedule, job and activities as well as any specific visual problems. The more we know, the better we can assist you in selecting the lenses best suited for your lifestyle.

2. i.Profiler screening
The i.Profiler® maps out over 2500 points on each eye in order to determine your eyes’ unique profile. Each person is different and our eyes are as unique as our fingerprints. The i.profiler allows us to determine the exact optical map of your eye. Think of it as a “fingerprint” measurement of your eye. This data is used by ZEISS in Germany to manufacture your customised lenses.

3. Eye pressure, colour vision and depth perception
We will also perform a series of tests to ensure that your colour vision, depth perception and eye pressure are within acceptable ranges. Measuring your eye pressure is particularly important as it enables us to identify possible glaucoma. This disease, if left untreated may cause permanent vision loss.

4. Subjective eye test
Our expert optometrists are ready to provide you with a one-on-one comprehensive eye examination. This includes performing a series of tests in order to identify any problems or difficulties with your vision, the best way to address these problems as well as providing professional advice on eye health.

5. Precise fitting
ZEISS Centration Technology determines the exact position of your lenses within the frame, calculated to 1/10th of a millimeter. This unique centration process guarantees 100% performance from your ZEISS precision lenses.

6. Your customised lens solution
Based on your individual vision profile, we are now able to discuss and advise you on the best possible lens solution. This includes the lens type, material as well as added features including lens coatings and sun protection. This is where you make your quality choice.
